Steve Walterscheid, inventor of the Benders, but not the internet.

Hello.  I'm Steve Walterscheid, former bartender, and I created a poseable magnetic figurene called Fat Stevie approximately 6 years ago.  He was the product of many years of fiddling with wire in the basement.  Fat Stevie was licensed to Hog Wild Toys where he became Joe Bender.  The idea was to create interactive art where the end user would be the "sculptor".  It was important to me that human Bender characters never have faces.  I did not want smiles plastered on them.  One can make a Bender elated, sad, guilty, scared, happy, excited, dejected, pissed, worried, upset, jealous, high or low simply by the way he is posed.  His tin package is his soapbox or podium, but of coarse he also does well on the fridge.  I also created Snap Watch, Surf Watch, Zipper Pull Watch, Acrobots, Flying Rope Men, Tail spinners, Twist tube light, Rocket Pen and Bop Oh! for Hog Wild.  The Benders continue to grow and are still my favorite line.
